It is a little unfair that one person can take up several spots. Having each character only have 1 slot makes sense. I perfer having the top score over a bunch of scores though.

And about the dishonor, why should you get dishonor points for resinging when there are no teamates you are ruining the game for (like in ra). It does slow down high scores, but mainly its just annoying.

Seriously. If the match goes badly, and I wish to place in the top 100, my response is:

WTB new match PST.

I understand ANet's intentions, but the failure to comprehend that the "/resign and new match" method isn't the only way to post a top score will lead to far fewer players getting a spot in the high scores this time around.

The way things are going they'll be giving out about 5 prizes.

Another great ANET failure.

Yay for one guy having 45 spots on the high-scores list! Thanks Anet!

If ANet were to make it so that scores were account based, surely we could go back to having no dishonor for /resign or leaving.

Lovely. Then a mini beetle is just like a mini pig, and you'd never want to display it, because everyone and his brother has one.

Rarity matters. The mini Aatxe is one of the best miniatures they've ever released, but you rarely see it in districts because other "rarer" miniatures are more desirable to have on display.

you know i wonder how someone can even get that high of a score without cheating or botting..

You'd have to get a superrollbeetle everytime to even make that.. and thats a one in a million lucky chance.. ?

It's not that hard actually, you just gotta know how to keep up your RRPM at all times and then just race and race until you get a lucky early echo/SRB and score 480k+. I just got 479.5k this way and it wasn't even a perfect race. I think 485k is possible even.

My guess is about 5-10. 5 people that sync with them, the remainder are those that sometime get into the race. I've been in a few matches with 3 people being in the same guild and those turned out just grand...

sycning does not help much at all. It is quite useless. The people that acutaly try syncing are the ones that have no idea how to get a high score.

Just to clarify will the people who we cant see under the top 100 be pushed into the top 100 to get that "prize"? (since half the top 100 is dominated by 2-4 people)

No, only 1 prize will be given out to each player on the top 100 board.

if 1 guy has all scores, 1 beetle will be rewarded

You serious?

Then the whole rollerbeetle thing is a joke, i dont see why they cant just take the top score of that person only and put them in the top 100 instead of having about 40 times from the same person..the races loses its value, well done anet smart move there.

They didn't neccesarily do this on purpose, they are probably just standing by their decision...

If they were going to change this then they would most likely have changed it WAY back before the public racing even started, they DO go through and test these ini-games you know.

Hope this contributed ^^

Thats the problem mate, this did happen last year as well so in essence they fixed nothing only thing they adjusted was the boxes cant be sat upon for 30 min waiting for a superroller beetle

You people shouldn't be surprised by this. ArenaNet I think has some of the best artists in the industry (when they aren't lazy like the ice crown incident). However, when it comes to actually applying common sense or any decent logic, they barely rate over the average idiot. They literally can't seem to think for themselves. That's why almost everything they touch outside the beauty of the game fails. They come up with nice things and neat ideas, but their implementation almost always fails. We see threads about this type of stuff all the time. I have a feeling this is what happens when you start a company and make a game centered around the artists. They really can't think of the ramifications of the choices they make.

I have a feeling we'll see another one with all the complaining about the pig collector. Maybe they end up changing something to allow everyone a celestial pig. However, that will only be a slap in the face for the people that decided they really wanted the pig and decided to buy the really inflated mini pigs from last year (me not being one of them).

They just don't think about things and they never really have. It's something that just has to be accepted if you continue to play the game(s) that ArenaNet makes. I intend to keep playing and I realize of course that I do so at my own risk.

At least with the rollerbeetle races there will most likely be more than one or two people getting the minipet (unlike the polar bear :-)...

EDIT: The alternative is to play a subscription or non-dead game where there's an incentive of some sort (continued subscription or continued buying of expansions) to fix things.

Wait, do we know that this is the case for sure? Because the wording of the reward keeper NPC is "the top 100 racers" not the top 100 scores will get the prize. So then shouldn't it be possible to get a beetle even if you aren't on the top 100 scores list, seeing as there are only about 37 people on that list. I'm not sure if it was this way or not last year (judging by the comments i'm guessing it wasn't) but maybe Anet changed this and we just don't know it yet.
